Calvin Milliner is an ABC News Fellow, currently in his third rotation at Good Morning America Digital. At GMA Digital, he pitches, produces and edits videos for their social media accounts, focusing on daily news, culture, and evergreen content. He also writes articles for the GoodMorningAmerica.com.

Prior to his time at GMA Digital, he rotated at ABC News Nightline, where he produced and edited show end segments as well as assisted with story pitches and news gathering. Additionally, he led research for the coverage of Reggie Bush reclaiming his Heisman and contributed to news gathering on ABC’s Modern Matchmaking story.

He also rotated at ABC News 20/20 where he assisted with the writing, editing, and field production of true crime mysteries, newsmaker interviews, and investigative reports. He received Associate Producer credit for his contributions to the Mary Winkler story, named the 20/20 episode ‘Till Death Do Us Part,’ and wrote the accompanying article.

Before his time at ABC News, Calvin worked as an Associate Producer/Reporter at The News Movement. He covered a multitude of stories including the SAG-AFTRA strikes, Trump indictments, a female track star accused of being biologically male and a neighborhood in Brooklyn that polices itself. At The News Movement, he leaned into a primarily Gen Z audience and helped grow a start-up news organization with videos on social media gaining over 20 million views.

Calvin graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He received his master’s  degree in Magazine, News and Digital Journalism on the Sports Media and Communication Track. At Newhouse, he interned at Sports Illustrated, where he covered the 2021 Syracuse football season. In addition to broadcasting live studio shows and providing insight on matchups through halftime reports and postgame analysis for ACC Network and Cuse.com. He also traveled with internationally to report on Israel, Palestine, Jordan and the Lebanese border. In doing so, Calvin was able to produce a story on the rescue of Ethiopian Jews through the lens of the pilots who brought them to Israel along with two photo essays showcasing the Middle East. 

After graduating Calvin spent ten weeks in Arizona with News21, an investigative reporting fellowship based at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Each year, News21 focuses on a national topic of importance, and the topic of the 2022 class was police reform. Throughout his fellowship, he traveled to Oakland, Akron and Baltimore. He interviewed the Oakland Police Chief, LeRonne Armstrong, former Black Panther Leader, Elaine Brown, the mother of Oscar Grant, Wanda Johnson, Breonna Taylor’s aunt, Bianca Austin, Jacob Blake Sr., Senator Jill Carter, Marion Gray-Hopkins, and many more. 

Calvin was born and raised in Harlem, New York and received his BA from Assumption College. He played collegiate football at the University of Rhode Island and Assumption College before pursuing a career in journalism.
